techUK Annual Dinner

Project Overview
Having sponsored the techUK Annual Dinner for many years, a bespoke tabledrop format was requested by the FDM Marketing Team to differentiate and stand out from their traditional offering.
Hosting over 600 guests from the Public Sector, the event is a formal evening filled with speeches, networking and celebration. To align with this, a motif was crafted that utilised FDM's soft, elegant gradient, presented in a Gatsby-esque manner to contain and border the copy. Using the 'digital skills gap' as the core messaging for the project, this focus directly influences the form of the tabledrop. Honing in on a key data point, 30% of the content is removed from the front cover which, when detached to overlay the content within, completes the message.
Encouraging interaction to boost recognition, the slim form of the business card allows it to be easily slotted into a wallet or pocket for future contact.
Final Bespoke Tabledrop
The final printed tabledrop, boasts a matte finish to contrast with the sheen of the attached business card. Reflective silver foiling catches the eye, whilst the translucent material ensures its purpose can be successfully realised. To assist in alignment, vertical bars were integrated within the internal design.
Concepts
Initial concepts used alternate methods to physically demonstrate the missing 30%. This included die-cut forms and assymmetric folded leaflets, however these failed to reflect the prestige of the event, nor deviate enough from the traditional A5 flyer of past years.
Mockups
Prior to sending to print numerous mockups and tests were conducted to gauge layout, test user experience and ensure the concept worked.
Email & Advert
A header banner was produced and optimised for the initial email invite, with an advert also composed for the event brochure to steer interest to the FDM website and aid brand recognition.
